How can I ensure the tutor is a good fit for me?
At TutorGals, we provide the opportunity for you to meet one-on-one with one of our tutors to make sure they are the right fit for you before you move forward. These meetings are typically 30 minutes and give our tutors the opportunity to get to know the student's learning style, the topics they're struggling with, and any other information that will be helpful going forward.
What if I have an emergency and have to cancel my session?
If you need to cancel an appointment we require at least 24 hours notice free of charge. If cancellation occurs within 12-24 hours of your session, the card on file will be charged half of your hourly rate. If you cancel less than 12 hours before your session or no show, the card on file will be charged for the full session. However, we understand emergencies happen so if something comes up we will work with you to reschedule.
How do you accept payment?
You will be able to add your payment information via your Teachworks account, which will process payment using stripe. Stripe is a secure, online payment platform.
Can I pay per session or do I have to pay a certain amount upfront?
However you'd like! If you'd like to pay after each session you are more than welcome to do that. You can also pay by the week or month if that is easier for you!Â
How much can a tutor really help me?
Here at TutorGals, our tutors make sure each session is tailored to you! We are more than happy to create practice problems, practice exams, and review sessions depending on what works best for you. If you have your own material from a class or teacher, we can use that as well and help you work through the problems you are struggling with. However, we can only help you as much as you allow us to. If you are not willing to come ready to learn and improve your skills, then we might not be the best fit for you.
If I'm running late, how long will you wait on the zoom if not given prior notice?
We will wait on zoom for 15 minutes unless otherwise notified by the student. After the 15 minutes is up, we will leave the zoom and you will be charged for the full hour. We understand emergencies happen so if this is the case, we can definitely discuss the situation and reconsider.
